Regensburg, Germany
Bavarian History Museum

At the heart of the museum is a series of large rooms that document the history of Bavaria.

Each era is presented within a discrete volume that together forms an abstraction of the architecture of the city. The volumes have pitched roofs, dormers, and subtle variations in orientation and height. This cluster of buildings celebrates what is common to the citizens of Regensburg.

The podium level becomes a viewing terrace while a new public square is proposed to the west.
