BMW Olympic Pavilion

The BMW Olympic Pavilion for the London 2012 games provided a showcase for BMW group and a destination for visitors to the olympic park.

The common victorian bandstand, a feature of british parks, was the reference point for the design. The bandstand is a minimum architecture with only a lightweight roof supported by slender columns.

The pavilion is conceived not as a single form but rather as a family of smaller pavilions contained and presented on a plinth.

The pavilion hovers over the river Lea.

Individual pavilions on the plinth.
