Hangzhou-Site

Serie has been commissioned - alongside Nicholas Grimshaw and Pysall Ruge - to design and renovate four large disused factories in Hangzhou, China, with Grimshaw overseeing two factories and Serie overseeing one.

The four disused factories, totalling 50,000sqm are envisioned to form the core of a new city centre, named Hangzhou Xintiandi. Located 6km north east of the present city centre of Hangzhou, this new city centre is dedicated to cultivating knowledge based and creative industries and will involve the construction of 1.1 million square metres of mixed-use development on a 56.7 Ha site.

Design will be presented in May 2010 / stay tuned
